My grandmother would wake up very early in the morning, every morning to start baking for the day. One of the first things she would start making was the day's cookies. As soon as the first batch was out of the oven my grandfather would appear for "cookies and coffee". After breakfast was mid-morning "cookies and coffee". Then pre-lunch "cookies and coffee" and after lunch "cookies and coffee". And so on throughout the day, until there were no more cookies to be had. He lived to be over 100 years old. To this day I wonder is if was the cookies or the coffee.
